Admission Forms for B.A., B.Sc., B.Com. will be given on and from 06.06.2014 to 23.06.2014 (except Sundays) from 11 a.m to 3 p.m

Dates of Submission of Forms: 23.06.2014 to 25.06.2011 from 12 noon to 3-30 p.m.

Merit Lists for B.A., B.Sc., B.Com. will be published on 26.06.2014 at 1 p.m

Commencement of Admission will be notified on 26.06.2014.

Primary Eligibility for seeking admission to the 1st Year Course: Must pass 10+2 Examination in 2014 with English as a Compulsory Subject of 100 marks.

Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) Vocational Examination conducted by the West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education and Training shall be eligible to seek admission to the B.A (General) 1st Year Course of Studies taking the subjects under Humanities Division only.

Candidates who have passed the afore-said H.S Examination in Commerce shall also be eligible for admission to the B.Com (General) 1st Year Course of Studies under Calcutta University.

No candidate shall be allowed for admission after a lapse of more than 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination or discontinuation of recognized regular Course of Studies after passing the previous qualifying examination.

Eligibility for Admission to the Honours Courses: As per CSR/54/09 dated 24.11.2009: “For the purpose of determining eligibility for admission to the Hons. Course, aggregate marks obtained at the pre-qualifying examination shall be calculated by adding the marks in top four subjects in order of marks secured by a candidate. However, marks in Compulsory Environmental Education/Studies shall not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate of marks. If the subject Environmental Science is studied as an elective subject of 100 marks, it may be taken into account for the purpose of determining the aggregate marks”.

Minimum Essential Conditions (as prescribed by Calcutta University) for taking up Honours Course:

• Minimum 50% marks in Aggregate (Best of Four) and 45% in Subject/related subject at the previous qualifying examination OR
• 55% marks in the Subject/related subject OR
• 50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying examination

Special Conditions for admission to following Honours Courses:

• Honours in Economics: Must have University Prescribed Minimum Marks in Mathematics/Business Economics including Business Mathematics at 10+2 Level from W.B.Council OR in Mathematics/Business Mathematics at 10+2 Level from ISC/CBSE
• Honours in Mathematics: Must have University Prescribed Minimum Marks in Mathematics at the previous qualifying examination. Pass in Business Mathematics is not eligible.
• Honours in Chemistry: Must pass in Physics and Mathematics, and must have University Prescribed Minimum Marks in Chemistry at the previous qualifying examination
• Honours in Physics: Must pass in Mathematics and have University Prescribed Minimum Marks in Physics at the previous qualifying examination
• Honours in Botany: Must have University Prescribed Minimum Marks in Botany/Biology/Bio-Technology at the previous qualifying examination
• Honours in Zoology: Must have University Prescribed Minimum Marks in Zoology/Biology/Bio-Technology at the previous qualifying examination
• B.Com Honours: Must have University Prescribed Minimum Marks in Accountancy/Business Economics including Business Mathematics/Business Organization/Mathematics/Business Mathematics/ Economics/ Statistics/ Business Studies/Office and Secretarial Practice/Financial Accounting/Elements of Cost Accountancy & Auditing/Book Keeping/Commerce/Cost Accountancy & Principle of Management

Essential Conditions for taking the following General Subjects:

• Statistics: Must pass in Statistics/Mathematics/Business Mathematics at the previous qualifying examination
• Computer Science: Must pass in Computer Application/Computer Science/ Physics and Mathematics at the previous qualifying examination
